I know it's been a really long time since I posted. I got a part-time, temporary, on-call, personal assistant type job from a guy in my ward. I did a dictation for him a week or so ago. He called me this evening (9:30ish) to see if I could type up 44 pages of family history sorta stuff, it looks to be a relatives personal history the beginnings anyway. But that's all fine until he gets to the part that he needs all this done by tomorrow evening. Still not too bad until the you add the fact that Dan and I have joined (rejoined for Dan) this medieval type group (the SCA, Society for Creative Anachronism). And we have a BIG campout starting June 17, which highly recommends that we be dressed up in medieval/renaissance type clothing... of which I have none, and Dan needs a cloak. So I figured if I make one article of clothing every two days I can get it all done. That includes cutting all the fabric out and hemming, both of which I really don't like. Most of it won't be too bad, the patterns I have for this time are very simple, basic dresses. I am a bit worried about doing two cloaks both of them with two layers. I'm much more comfortable with quilt making then clothing making.
I also learned some new needlework type stitcheries. It's very fun. It's called Blackstitch because origonally it was done with black thread on white fabric (it's very common on Elizabethan clothing) basically a backstitch that's reversible. So when the fabric gets flipped over it's pretty on the underside too.
It's very rainy outside right now, that's a very welcome change.
I will post pictures of my projects and our camping trip in a few weeks, after we go and come back. ;-)
